..... Village News Hunt for the Golden Turtle Buttons and the Hunt for the Golden Turtle are back for another Fair Celebration! The hunt shall commence this week after the first clue was printed in the June 18th newspaper issue of The Times. Buttons are available now at various TL Chamber Businesses and sold for $1; get yours before they’re gone! Hunters beware! The Golden Turtle hides only on Public Property. Since turtles are cautious creatures, they avoid dangerous and hazardous locations; you would never catch a Golden Turtle lurking around the Sewer Plant. Lastly, the Village of Turtle Lake provides such a wonderful habitat for golden turtles that they do not leave the Village limits. When you find the Golden Turtle, bring it to Village Hall, Monday – Friday, 8a.m. to 4:30p.m., and during non-business hours to Cenex - Laker Country Sports, to claim your prize. If you have a Chamber Parade Button, your prize amount increases to $100 in Chamber Bucks, redeemable at all Turtle Lake Area Chamber Businesses. Without a button, the prize amount is $50 in Chamber Bucks. We hope you enjoy this addition in conjunction with the Turtle Lake Fair once again. Good luck, Hunters! - Turtle Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Click Here for Clue #1 - Clue #2 - Clue #3 Village TIF District # 3 - Green Park/Eco-Industrial Park The Village recently purchased a 40 acre lot along Hwy. 63 South and Cemetery Road on the West side of the Village limits. This property is part of the new TIF District and is being considered for a Green Park or Eco-Industrial Park. Currently, the Planning Commission is working towards preparing guidelines for this area in order to satisfy a status of "green" whether it be commercial or industrial business development. The upcoming meetings of the Commission will be on Wednesday, April 22nd at 4:15pm and Monday, May 4th at 4:15pm. For more information regarding the TIF District, which extends beyond the 40 acres and along Industrial Avenue, please contact (715) 986-2134 or admin@turtlelakewi.com
Village Embarks on a Collaborative Digester To help resolve limit issues of the Village's Wastewater Treatment Plant and assist industries to manage their high strength discharge, the Village has considered a collaborative digester as an option. Plant expansion was originally discussed; however, the concept of participating in a biogas renewable energy opportunity which would create a situation of sustainability was highly desirable. SEH Engineering has completed Phase 1 and is currently conducting Phase 2 of the feasibility study. If you would like more information regarding our project, please contact Mark J. Broses, Senior Environmental Engineer, SEH, at (715) 720-6236. Two Slide Shows in PDF format are available for download.
