All application forms must be complete and submitted to Village Hall for approval.
Failure to abide by guidelines, Village Code of Ordinances, State and Federal law may result in penalties and fines.

Burning Permits Within the Village of Turtle Lake:  During Conditions where a Burn Ban is NOT in place, no permit is required for burning within a campfire ring, three (3) feet in diameter; and no garbage or cardboard may be burned.
OPEN BURNING is NOT ALLOWED without a Burning Permit.  Burning Permits are issued by select members of the Turtle Lake Fire District.  Residents outside the Village Limits may visit the WI DNR's website regarding Burning Permits and see the Current Fire Danger by clicking on the following link:  www.dnr.wi.gov

Building/Land Use Permit This permit is for non-inspection projects only:  Applicable projects include the following examples:  replacement of a window, exterior door, shingles, and/or siding, fence installation, etc.  Any other project that involves structural changes requires an inspection and completion of a WI Uniform Building Permit Application or Commercial Building Permit Application.  Please check with the Village Clerk to confirm which applies to you.

Construction projects must be in accordance with the Zoning Regulations for each property and conform to local, state and federal laws and codes. To verify Zoning Districts and Regulations on individual properties, please contact Village Hall at (715) 986-2241.

Sign Permit

Sign Permits are issued by the Village's Building Inspector.  Completed applications must be submitted to the municipal clerk at Village Hall, who will then forward the application to the Building Inspector.

The Village Code of Ordinances regulating signs, Title 13, Article G - Signs, is available online by clicking here or will be made available upon request at Village Hall.

Prior to completing your application and contacting the Building Inspector or Village Clerk, please review the Sign Ordinance thoroughly to determine how your project falls within the scope of the Code.

WI Uniform Building Permit Application Building Permits are issued at the Village Hall once a complete application has been submitted to the Village Clerk and Building Inspector.  Please allow time for the Application Process prior to scheduling your construction project.

Provisional License This form is an application for a Provisional License to serve alcoholic beverages at licensed establishments within the Village of Turtle Lake.  A Provisional License allows you 60 days to complete a WI DOR approved course in order to apply for a Regular Operator’s License with the Village. Inquire at Village Hall or your place of employment for a schedule of courses locally. Provisional License Application
Operator's License This form is an application for a Regular Operator’s License to serve alcoholic beverages at licensed establishments within the Village of Turtle Lake. Please complete and sign this form and submit to Village Hall so that your application may be reviewed by the Village Board. Once your application has been approved your license will be available through your employer. Operator's License Application
Temporary License This form is an application for a Temporary License to serve alcoholic beverages at licensed establishments within the Village of Turtle Lake for a specific event and specified period of time under the authority of a BONA FIDE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION.

There are certain eligibility requirements for this type of license. Inquire at Village Hall for more information, (715) 986-2241.

Rental Housing License The Village of Turtle Lake's current Rental Housing Code is available at Village Hall upon request.  It is the responsibility of the property owner to contact the Village Clerk prior to rental of any units; inspection of the property is required by law. Direct Sellers/
Transient Merchant Permit
An application for a direct seller/transient merchant permit must be submitted to the Village Hall prior to the authorization of business dealings by such a seller.  Upon receipt of an application and approval a permit will be issued.  The Village does request that sellers of self-grown produce comply with the application process, as well. Amplified Device Permit Village Ordinance Section 11-2-5 states it shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue or cause to be made or continue any loud and unnecessary noise. The use of loudspeakers or amplified devices on the streets or in the parks of the Village of Turtle Lake is prohibited unless the party desiring to use such loudspeaker or amplifying device first obtains a permit from the Village Board.  The Board meets regularly on the third Monday of each month.  Agendas are set by Monday at noon preceding the meeting. Park Reservation / Exclusive Use Permit The Village permits individuals or organizations the ability to reserve one of the Village owned Parks for exclusive use, i.e. fair, benefit event, etc.  The Board meets regularly on the third Monday of each month.  Agendas are set by Monday at noon preceding the meeting.  Please submit applications to Village Hall. Street Use / Privilege Permit Permits are required to authorize the use of any public street for an event and specified use, such as a street dance or parade.  Applications must be approved by the Village Board.  The Board meets regularly on the third Monday of each month.  Agendas are set by Monday at noon preceding the meeting.  Please submit applications to Village Hall. Kennel License Kennel Licenses are required for any resident that houses more than two animals of one species, dog or cat.  Licenses are valid for one year. License fees are $50 for twelve (12) of fewer animals, and $5 for each additional animal. All animals must be properly immunized and you must be able to verify proper immunization to local officials, current Rabies Certificates must be submitted with application. Kennel Licenses automatically authorize local officials to enter the licensed premise without warrant and inspect for license violations.
